PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Campbell Hall Knocked From Delphic Race by Crossroads
- Share via
Campbell Hall High found itself in desperate need of a shooter Tuesday night as visiting Crossroads enjoyed three impressive scoring runs en route to a 61-41 Delphic League rout.
The Roadrunners (12-7, 9-1 in league play) benefited from 10-2 runs to end the first and second quarters for a 33-21 halftime lead.
After a fairly even third quarter, Crossroads’ 11-2 run to start the fourth quarter put the game out of reach and effectively dashed any hopes Campbell Hall (12-7, 6-3) had of winning the league title.
“Obviously this was a very difficult loss for us,” Campbell Hall Coach Jon Palarz said. “By virtue of the fact that we have taken ourselves out of the league race.”
Crossroads junior guard Travon Dugar, who stands just 5-foot-6, scored on four drives in the fourth quarter and finished with 17 points.
