Share

A different day and an opponent with a different style gave Taft High a different--and more pleasing--outcome.

The Toreadors, who absorbed a 17-point loss at the hands of deliberate Kennedy two days ago, defeated Cleveland, 89-64, in a wide-open North Valley League basketball game Friday at Taft.

Taft’s victory over Cleveland was its second in 10 seasons.

“That was beautiful, beautiful,” said Taft guard Casey Sheahan, who scored a game-high 23 points. “This is our style. We have guys who like to run.”
