1 Man Killed, Pregnant Woman, 2 Others Shot
A man was killed and three other people, including a pregnant woman, were injured in an apparent gang-related drive-by shooting in the Athens section of Los Angeles late Saturday, police said.
The unidentified man died at the scene of the shooting, outside an apartment complex near the corner of 118th Street and Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles Police Officer Ray Banker said.
An air ambulance took the pregnant woman to County/USC Medical Center, Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said. She had apparently been shot twice in the midsection and was reported in critical condition.
Ambulances took the two other victims to area hospitals. Fire officials said both were in critical condition.
Police late Saturday were seeking a description of the vehicle and its occupants.
