Frederick Powers Cypress to Softball Title

FULLERTON — Carrie Frederick had four hits, including a home run and a double, as Cypress College defeated Long Beach, 11-1, in the championship game of the Fullerton softball tournament.
Frederick, a freshman shortstop from Savanna High, scored two runs and drove in three for Cypress (9-3), the defending state champions. She was 10 for 19 in the tournament.
Cypress scored seven runs in the second inning and finished with 13 hits. The Chargers won five consecutive games over two days to win the tournament.
