In other City Section boys’ basketball first-round playoff games:

Reseda 68, Lincoln 67--Senior forward Roscoe Tinsley scored on a 12-foot baseline jump shot with eight seconds remaining to hand Reseda (14-6) the victory in a 3-A game at Wilson High.

Reseda trailed, 67-66, with 12 seconds left when it called time out and tried to set up a shot for Marquis Burns (21 points). Yet Tinsley, who finished with four points, ended up taking the game-winner. Sophomore guard Trenton Cross had 24 points for Reseda.

Chatsworth 48, Wilson 44--Junior center Brady Mertes scored a game-high 19 points for Chatsworth in a 3-A game. Senior guard Christian Dunbar added 11 points and eight assists.

Westchester 82, Granada Hills 63--Defending 4-A champion Westchester (21-2) was led by guard Jason Sanders with 16 points. Granada Hills (3-19) tied the score, 19-19, on a three-point basket by forward Omary Miles at the end of the first quarter, but trailed the rest of the way.

Grant 75, Huntington Park 54--Wayne Carlise had team-high totals of 24 points and 13 rebounds, and junior guard Darwin Alfelor scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half to lead the host Lancers (16-6) to a 3-A win.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Palmdale 61, Temecula Valley 47--Kim Schielke scored a team-high 24 points to lead host Palmdale (21-7) in a Southern Section I-AA Division game. Latisha Beam and Aimee Grimes each added 15 points for Palmdale, which won its 15th consecutive game.

Thousand Oaks 80, Santa Maria 54--Thousand Oaks (26-1) settled matters with a 25-4 first quarter in a second-round I-A game at Santa Maria. Michelle Palmisano had 30 points and 12 rebounds, and Sasha Scardino added 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Lancers.

Alemany 84, Fullerton 63--Using a tenacious man-to-man full-court press to generate offensive opportunities, host Alemany (23-4) pulled away in the second-round II-A game. Samantha Rigley scored 25 points for Alemany (17-8)and Sarah Guziel added 23.

Bell-Jeff 86, Alverno 29--Lori Leon scored a game-high 19 points and Lori Talley added 18 points and 12 rebounds for host Bell-Jeff (21-5) in a IV-A game.

Holy Martyrs 45, La Sierra Academy 29--Linda Dukmajian scored 11 points for Holy Martyrs (22-2) in a second-round V-AA game.

North Hollywood 51, Narbonne 39--Nikke Hamilton led North Hollywood (18-4) with 10 points in a City Section 4-A opener.

El Camino Real 46, Canoga Park 34--Ayelet Levy scored nine points for host El Camino Real (12-4) in a first-round City 4-A game. Yadhy Contreras scored 14 points for Canoga Park.

Granada Hills 61, Marshall 42--Yvonne Zandi had 19 points and Karen Berkowitz added 18 for Granada Hills (10-6) in a first-round City 3-A game.

Dorsey 61, Kennedy 53--Shaneya Harris scored a game-high 32 points for host Kennedy (14-7) in a 4-A game.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

La Reina 4, Thacher 0--Michelle Nuesca scored two second-half goals and Jennifer LaFemina registered her 10th shutout for La Reina in a Southern Section 1-A second-round playoff game.

Harvard-Westlake 2, San Luis Obispo 0--Alyze Lowen and Hillary Gross each scored a goal for host Westlake (12-0-4) in a 1-A match.

Oak Park 3, Cate 0--Alessia Bernadini scored two goals and Jenny Jeppson added a goal and an assist to lead Oak Park (15-4-3) in a 1-A match at Oak Park.

Temple City 3, Alemany 0--Erin Martin had a hat trick to lead host Temple City (18-4-2) to a 3-A win. Alemany finished 19-5-2.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Harvard-Westlake 2, Arcadia 1--Harvard’s David Moran scored in the second overtime to give the Wolverines (15-3-2) a first-round Southern Section 2-A win.

Arroyo Grande 2, Notre Dame 1--Arroyo Grande scored on a controversial penalty kick with three minutes left in a second-round 2-A match at Arroyo Grande. Francisco Dongo scored for Notre Dame (9-6-2).

Kennedy 4, South Gate 1--Sean Dudra, Danny Cardenas, Alex Sawatzke and Alex Lineares scored for host Kennedy (7-2-4) in a first-round City Section match.
