OUTLOOK

Ceballos, who was a volunteer assistant at UC Irvine last season, returns to the Warriors after serving a one-year suspension for coaching players out of season, levied by the Southern Section. In Ceballos’ absence, former major leaguer Steve Kemp coached the Warriors to a last-place tie with University. Ceballos hopes to return to the success of 1990, when Woodbridge finished third in the Pacific Coast League. But it won’t be easy. Two players he had expected to be his best pitchers are academically ineligible, leaving him with only three returning starters. Coker, who got some pitching experience last season, and Vescovi, a hard-throwing transfer from Oklahoma, will be counted on for the bulk of the pitching. The returning starters are solid--Curren, a first-team all-league catcher, batted .390 last season, Lemmon was a second-team all-league selection and Sunderman is a four-year starter.
