NAIA DISTRICT 3 BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS : Henjum and Witmer Lead SCC to Victory
The Southern Calfornia College men’s basketball team defeated Azusa Pacific, 89-86, Tuesday in the first round of the NAIA District 3 playoffs at Azusa.
Mike Henjum and Rick Witmer each scored 19 points for the Vanguards (22-9), who advance to play top-seeded Biola in a semifinal at 8 p.m. Saturday at Whittier College.
In another District 3 playoff game:
Biola 87, Christ College Irvine 55--Vince Hizon, a former Cypress College player, scored 16 points for host Biola (29-3). Brian Hazelwood scored 12 points for Christ College Irvine (14-16).
