Cal Lutheran 10-19, Caltech 1-0 -- The Kingsmen remained undefeated after sweeping a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at home.

Joe Cascione had two hits and three runs batted in the first game as CLU built a 7-0 lead after three innings. In the second game, Joe Gaxiola and Rawlie Jacobson each had three hits and collected three RBIs for CLU (16-0, 9.0).

Pierce 5, Cuesta 4 -- Pierce, held to one run, two hits and a walk through eight innings, scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth of Robby Weeks to win a Western State Conference game.

In the ninth, Joe Arnold and Jason Cohen singled and Brian Smith hit a three-run home run to tie the score. One out later, Ricky Banuelos and Josh Smaler hit back-to-back doubles for the winning run.

Erik Martinez hit a home run in the sixth for Pierce’s first run. The Brahmas improved to 12-2-1, 4-0 in conference play.

Ventura 8, Oxnard 6 -- The host Pirates scored twice in the eighth to snap a 6-6 tie and pull out a WSC win.

Mitch King walked and Steve Philbrook was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. After a sacrifice moved the runners up, Chris Marsden blasted a two-run double to help keep Ventura (9-3, 3-0) in first place.

SOFTBALL

Cal Lutheran 5, La Verne 4 -- Alyusa Matthews and Laree Reynolds each had two hits to lead Cal Lutheran (7-2, 5-0) in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Pierce d. Rancho Santiago, 15-3, 15-6, 15-11 -- Rich Lake had 1 kills to lead the Brahmas (8-1, 2-1) in a WSC match at Pierce.
