Big Ones Bite, Not Biggest at Castaic Lake
Castaic Lake has yet to produce a world-record largemouth bass, as many predict it will, but the Los Angeles County reservoir has been yielding trophy-size fish.
John Bartlett of Pasadena caught a 15-pound 8-ounce largemouth and David Brink of Castaic hooked a 13-pounder.
The all-tackle world record is a 22-pound 4-ounce bass caught in Alabama’s Montgomery Lake in 1932.
