Ventura County Boys’ Coach of the Year

Last season, with Ventura County Player of the Year Chris Loll supplying the heroics, Thousand Oaks High won a share of its first Marmonte League title since 1977. This season, without Loll, the Lancers won the championship outright.

Coach Ed Chevalier, in his 13th season, deserves credit for getting consistent pressure play from a mix of seniors and underclassmen. Thousand Oaks was without a dominant player but Chevalier seemed to find a new standout every week.

Thousand Oaks finished 18-8 and beat Santa Barbara in the first round of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs. The Lancers fell in the second round to eventual finalist Riverside North.
