In other City Conference games:

Clairemont 5, Kearny 0--Ryan Calafata went three for three, walked, and scored two runs to give Devin Henderson (1-0) and Clairemont (3-5-1) the victory. Kearny fell to 4-6-1.

Madison 12, Morse 3--Madison scored 11 runs with two outs in the second inning. Chris Luce and Anthony Peters, who batted twice in the inning, had three RBIs apiece. Madison is 6-2.

Lincoln 7, Marian 4--Dan DuPont (2-0) pitched seven innings of shutout relief for Lincoln (3-6), which got a three-run homer from Tobias Price.

San Diego 4, University City 3--Frank Guzman (1-1) pitched three shutout innings, went two for three and had an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Cavers (4-4) scored the winning run moments later on a wild pitch. University City is 3-5.

Coronado 6, Hoover 5--Coronado (5-3), playing the first of three games in three days, used five pitchers to beat Hoover (1-6). Kyle Smock had three RBIs, on two sacrifice flies and a fielder’s choice, for the Islanders.

Palomar League

Rancho Buena Vista 5, Mt. Carmel 2--Eric Seckner (2-0), who went 20 innings before allowing an earned run in the fifth inning, needed only 86 pitches to beat the Sundevils (3-7, 0-1). Travis Wilson had a double and two RBIs; Grady Griffith went two for three, doubled, scored twice, drove in a run and stole a base; and Mark Pallotto went two for three, scored twice and stole a base. RBV is 6-3-1, 1-0.

Metro Conference

Montgomery 2, Hilltop 0--David Silvas struck out six, walked none and allowed only one hit for No. 1 Montgomery (8-0, 2-0). Hilltop’s Juan Garcia, one of only two Lancer baserunners, broke up the no-hitter in the fifth inning. Oscar Robles went went two for three with an RBI, and Jose Lorenzana had an RBI double. Montgomery scored its runs in the first two innings.

Bonita Vista 3, Chula Vista 1--Jorge Millan (1-2) pitched a three-hitter and lost his shutout on a double steal with two outs in the ninth. Mike Daniels had an RBI triple, and Ron Battle went two for three with an RBI for Bonita Vista.

Grossmont Conference Tournament

Grossmont 16, West Hills 6--Second-ranked Grossmont (7-0) set a section record with its 25th consecutive victory, breaking the standard it set last year. Robby Coddington had three hits, two RBIs and scored three times, and Jon Heinrichs had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice. Pitcher Jason Eskridge (2-0) struck out six in three innings in the five-inning game. West Hills is 3-4-1.
