Loara 2, Capistrano Valley 1--The Saxons scored their runs in the first inning on two walks and two errors.

La Habra 5, Valencia 1--Dani Ortega (10-2) struck out 11 and allowed only one hit in four innings for the host Highlanders.

Brea-Olinda 1, Sunny Hills 0 (15 innings, international tiebreaker)--Angie Hanes singled to left in the top of the 15th to score Samantha Cardenas from third for the Wildcats (6-2).

Troy 6, Santa Ana 1--Laura Smith had three runs batted in to lead the Warriors (8-2) past the Saints (5-7). Stacy Lumley drove in Santa Ana’s only run.

Canyon 2, Esperanza 1 (13 innings)--Freshman Krystal Aldaco had a two-out single in the top of the 13th to give visiting Canyon (7-5) the victory. Esperanza (3-8) scored its only run in the second. Karen Jacobs (3-4) allowed six hits, struck out two and didn’t walk a batter.

Cypress 3-1, Western 1-0--Liz Moore singled to drive in Nikki Espriu, who knocked the ball out of the catcher’s glove, for Cypress (9-0) in the 12th inning of the second game.

California Lutheran 24, La Verne Calvary Baptist 12--Cal Lutheran (2-2) scored 14 runs in the fifth inning.

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 2, St. Joseph 0--Terri Kobata pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Monarchs (5-0-1, 1-0). Kobata allowed a single with one out in the fifth. Before the hit, she had struck out eight consecutive batters. Mater Dei scored two unearned runs in the fifth.

Santa Margarita 1, Rosary 0 (12 innings)--Shortstop Michelle Methot, who had three hits, drove in the winning run with a single in the 12th inning for Santa Margarita (5-5, 1-0).

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 10, Los Amigos 0 (6 innings, mercy rule)--Kelly White went three for three with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs for Garden Grove (5-1-1, 3-0-1). The Argonauts turned a triple play in the fourth inning.

Kennedy 4, Bolsa Grande 0--Lisa Pitt pitched a two-hitter for Kennedy at Bolsa Grande. She struck out 14 and walked only two. Joy Hannifin had a two-run single in the first for the Fighting Irish (7-3, 3-1).

Pacifica 11, Santiago 0 (6 innings, mercy rule)--Jennifer Surface pitched a one-hitter for Pacifica (7-1, 3-1) at Santiago. Surface struck out seven and walked one and has allowed only one run in 48 innings. The only hit she allowed was a single with two outs in the first inning. Surface also had two triples and four RBIs.

Rancho Alamitos 3, La Quinta 2 (11 innings)--Pinch-runner Kim Vasquez scored on an error in the top of the 11th inning at La Quinta. Destiny Mollison (4-5) struck out 14, and her younger sister, Cherish, had three hits for Rancho Alamitos (5-6-1, 2-2).

In the Sunset League:

Ocean View 12, Edison 0--Tami Dowlin hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Lisa Daquisto for Ocean View (6-4, 2-0). Dowlin had four RBIs. Rachael Brown had Edison’s only hit in the third inning. Edison is 3-5, 0-1.

In the Olympic League:

Capistrano Valley Christian 16, Orange Lutheran 4--Jennifer Moine and Krissy Hazlett each had bases-loaded doubles in a 10-run seventh inning for Capistrano Valley Christian (2-5, 1-2). Orange Lutheran is 1-8, 0-3.

In Fullerton tournament consolation-round play:

El Modena 4, Villa Park 1--Alexis Beckman struck out five and went the distance for El Modena (8-5). Karen Bartkiewicz had two hits and scored a run for the Vanguards.
