Handyman Killed in Junkyard
A junkyard argument in Otay Mesa Saturday ended with the shooting death of a Bonita man.
Denver Price Dayton, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said the shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. when a dark sedan with three men inside pulled into the yard just south of Brown Field airport, a police spokesman said. The three men got out of the car and began arguing with Dayton, who was then shot shortly after.
The men then got back into the car and fled.
Dayton made a living as a handyman and by scavenging discarded cars for scrap metal, witnesses told police.
