In other Lions tournament games:

Westminster 7, Sunny Hills 2--Center fielder Robert Besanson, who was named to the all-tournament team, was three for four with three RBIs in the consolation championship game. Winning pitcher Keith Cowley (1-2), who had seven strikeouts and no walks, went two for three for the visiting Lions. Westminster is 9-10, 3-3.

Kennedy 4, Cerritos 3--Devin Underwood’s two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh gave the Fighting Irish (13-4) the victory in the fifth-place game at Glover Stadium.

Santiago 10, Troy 6 (6 innings time limit)--Jamie Estrada drove in two runs, scored twice and hit a bases-empty home run, and Enele Scanlan had three doubles and scored twice as the Cavaliers (9-8) won the seventh-place game at Brookhurst Park.

Brett Coon was three for three with two doubles and a triple, driving in two runs and scoring once for Troy.

In the Gladstone tournament:

La Habra 3, Hesperia 1--Jason Johnson drove in a run with an infield hit in the third inning and La Habra went on to win the championship game. Freshman Jeremy Payne (1-0) was the winner for the Highlanders (9-5).

In the Santa Ana Easter tournament:

Mission Viejo 3, Saddleback 2--Scott Neuhausan’s seventh-inning single drove in winning pitcher Kurt Zimmerman with the tie-breaking run as the Diablos won the third-place game at Rancho Santiago College.

Foothill 5, Laguna Hills 4--Rob Higby’s second-inning single drove in two runs for the Knights (11-5) in the fifth-place game at Valencia High.

Mike Messinger hit a bases-empty home run and Jason Pierson drove in two runs with a third-inning single for Laguna Hills (9-7).

Villa Park 8, Santa Ana Valley 6--Eric Kay’s run-scoring triple in the fifth inning gave the Spartans the lead for good in the 11th-place game at Villa Park.

Reliever Jason Johnson (2-1) picked up the victory and doubled for Villa Park (6-9-2). Santa Ana Valley is 5-12.

Los Alamitos 7, Buena Park 1--John Daugherty went three for three, doubled twice, scored three times and drove in three runs for the Griffins (8-10) in the consolation final at Santa Ana High.

Pacifica 10, Santa Ana 0--Ron Gunderson pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight for the Mariners (11-7) in a consolation bracket game at Santa Ana High.

Valencia 3, Perris 1--Jason Hanmer (5-0) had eight strikeouts as the host Tigers improved to 11-5 with a consolation bracket victory.

In the Coachella Valley Tournament:

Capistrano Valley 9, Palm Desert 4--Brian Epps and Jim Lyons each drove in two runs as the Cougars (14-3) won the championship game at Coachella Valley High.

Capistrano Valley 15, Coachella Valley 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Scott Patton drove in three runs and Brian Benner, Matt Harrison and Mel Morse two each in a semifinal game.

Cypress 4, Rowland 1--Greg Poyner was three for three and scored a run for the Centurions (11-6-1) in the fifth-place game.
