West Torrance Falls in Final, 12-3
Two big innings powered Westlake High to a 12-3 victory over West Torrance in the championship game of the Glendale tournament Thursday night at Stengel Field.
Westlake (9-6) scored four runs in the first inning and six in the sixth. In between, the Warriors escaped several jams in what for a while was a close game.
Lanky right-hander Scott Singleton pitched his way out of trouble in the first, third and fourth innings, then yielded to reliever Tony Dellamano with two out and the bases loaded in the top of the sixth.
With Westlake leading, 6-3, Dellamano came in and struck out Brian Lacriox to end the inning.
West Torrance is 12-5.
