In another City Western game:

Kearny 11, University City 2--Kearny had several heroes: Marcel Jones went three for five, scored three runs and drove in two; Travis Krant went three for four and drove in three; Eddie Feistel went two for five and drove in one; and Patrick Ancmon struck out nine.

City Central League

Crawford 6, Lincoln 2--Carl Marino, Johnny Verdin and Larry Haley each had two hits to lead Crawford (6-7, 2-0), which has won four of its last five. The Colts also stole home twice. Tobias Price had 12 strikeouts and eight walks for Lincoln (7-9, 1-1).

San Diego 16, Hoover 12--David Mendoza went three for four with two RBIs to lead San Diego (7-9, 1-2).

City Eastern League

Patrick Henry 14, Morse 8--Patriot Eric Slama slammed a fifth-inning home run and was three for four with four RBIs. Teammate Chris Yerke added two hits and three RBIs as Patrick Henry (6-8-2, 1-1) scored 10 runs in the third. Morse fell to 7-6, 0-2.

Point Loma 6, Serra 3--Rantie Harper led Point Loma (9-9-1, 2-1) by going three for four with two RBIs and three runs. Eric Bromley struck out eight.

City Harbor League

Coronado 3, Clairemont 2--Corey Laulom had two hits, including a triple in the fifth that led to the winning run. Moses Castillo, running for Laulom, then scored on a wild pitch. Guy Murray (6-3) allowed four hits, only two after the first inning. Coronado is 10-6, 3-0, Clairemont 8-9-1, 1-2.

St. Augustine 7, Marian Catholic 4--Paul Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly to score Chris Borunda (two hits, three runs) with the winning run in the sixth.

Metro Conference

Montgomery 5, Castle Park 4--Armando Mendoza went two for three and had two RBIs and singled in Ricardo Gomez with two outs in the seventh. Also for No. 2 Montgomery (14-3, 5-0), Oscar Robles went two for four and scored a run. Alex Ruvalacaba went two for four for Castle Park (11-8, 2-2).

Mar Vista 7, Southwest 2--Bobby Rector (6-0) struck out 10 for the Mariners (12-5-1, 4-1). Southwest fell to 5-7-1, 2-3.

Coastal League

Julian 18, La Jolla Country Day 7--Graham Koonce extended his county lead in several offensive categories. He hit two home runs and now has 11 for the season and nine in the past seven games. He also drove in seven runs to up his RBIs to 36. Koonce also scored all five times he went to bat and now has 24 runs. By going three for four, he raised his average to .574. Julian improved to 8-6, 2-1. LJCD is 8-6, 3-1.

TRACK AND FIELD

Granite Hills Coach Jim Hunter can’t tell his top two hurdlers apart. Ricky Barton and Brian Barton are identical twins and in Tuesday’s dual meet against Grossmont, both finished tied for first in the 120-yard high hurdles with identical times of 15.4. Granite Hills beat Grossmont, 111-24.
