A sweep of all nine singles sets led San Clemente to a 10-8 victory over Dana Hills in a key South Coast League boys’ tennis match Monday at Dana Hills.
The victory kept San Clemente (11-2, 6-0 in league) in first place, one match ahead of Mission Viejo, while the loss ended Dana Hills’ hopes of an eighth consecutive league championship.
The Dolphins (8-7, 2-4), league champions from 1985-1991, are currently in fourth place and might not qualify for a Southern Section Division 4-A playoff berth.
San Clemente dominated in singles behind David Roditi, who swept at No. 1, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0.
