The Cal Poly Pomona’s women’s tennis team won its second consecutive NCAA Division II championship Sunday as Broncos shut out Grand Canyon University, 5-0.

The victory marked the fourth women’s tennis title in Pomona history. Karen Miller, now the university’s athletic director, coached the Broncos to AIAW titles in 1980 and 1981, and Ann Lebedeff gave them their first NCAA title last year.

Doubles are suspended in the championship match once the minimum five wins have been established. Pomona’s victory marks the first shutout in Division II championship history.
