Precautionary X-rays of Patrick Ewing’s sprained left ankle, suffered in Game 6 of the NBA playoffs against the Chicago Bulls, were negative and the Knick center said: “I’ll do whatever I have to do to be ready” for Game 7 on Sunday.
John Starks of the Knicks was fined $5,000 for a flagrant foul committed against Scottie Pippen in Game 6. Chicago Coach Phil Jackson was fined $2,500 for comments he made after Game 4. Jackson implied that the league wanted the series to go the seven-game limit.
