PREP NOTES
Edison has named Kristi Kaufmann, a former heptathlete at UC Irvine, as its new girls’ cross-country coach, assistant track coach Dave White said.
Kaufmann replaces Stan Stauble, who resigned after leading the Chargers to the State Division II championship last fall. She finished second in the Big West Conference heptathlon with 5,257 points last month.
White, the school’s varsity football coach, filled in as the girls’ distance coach this past track season.
Returning for Edison will be Janna Evans and Jennifer Formosa, but State cross-country and track champion Shelley Taylor will be running for Arkansas this fall.
