Right-hander Kevin Kloek, who was 8-2 for Cal State Northridge this baseball season, has been assigned to the Milwaukee Brewers’ Class-A affiliate in Helena, Mont.
Kloek, a fourth-round choice in last week’s amateur draft, signed Sunday.
He played one season for Northridge after transferring from Citrus College, posting a 3.15 earned-run average with 111 strikeouts and 26 walks in 100 innings.
Mike Hayes, an All-City Section 4-A Division third baseman from Westchester High, said he will attempt to make the Northridge baseball team as a walk-on. Hayes batted .422 in 1992.
