LOCAL NOTES : Tiger Woods Wins Another Golf Title in San Antonio

Tiger Woods of Cypress fired a final round two-under 70 Thursday to win the boys’ 15-18 division of the ProGear San Antonio Shootout, his second consecutive American Junior Golf Assn. title.

Woods finished the three-round tournament with a six-under 210, six shots ahead of John Lawrence of Houston and Marcus Jones of Graham, Tex.

Woods began the round with a one-shot lead over Lawrence, who finished with a three-over 75.

David Warady of Huntington Beach added 4 minutes 39 seconds to his lead after the 13th day of the Runner’s World Trans America Footrace.

Warady was third in the 55.3 miles from Cedar City to Beaver, Utah, completing the distance in 11:37.21. He is now 2:49.22 ahead of Helmut Schieke of Germany.

The 3,000-mile, 64-day race continues today with a 52-mile stage from Beaver to Monroe, Utah.

Debbie Graham of Fountain Valley teamed with Jonathan Stark of Medford, Ore., for a 2-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-0, victory over Michiel Schapers and Brenda Schultz of the Netherlands in a third-round mixed doubles match at Wimbledon.

Sandy Zubrin of the Mission Viejo Nadadores Dive Team won the girls’ one-meter event in the 16-18 division of the Southern California Invitational in Mission Viejo. Zubrin had a score of 376.55.

Britt Mattern of the Santa Clara Dive Team was second in 353.40, and Joy Burkholder of the Nadadores was third in 346.35.

Tyce Routson of the Nadadores finished second in the boys’ 16-18 three-meter event with a score of 457.30. P.J. Bogart of the Sun Devil Divers in Arizona won at 499.15.
