SPORTSCOPE : Triathlon Is Scheduled for Saturday in San Dimas

The Charter Oak All-Stars, a baseball team for players 10 years old, won the Mustang Division state championship Friday at Pacific Grove near Monterey.
The West Covina-based team won the zone and regional championship in West Covina before advancing to the eight-team state tournament. Charter Oak won four consecutive games in the state tournament, including a 4-0 victory over Marina in the final.
Jim Farmer, 38, has been hired as an assistant athletic director and assistant chairman of physical education at Pasadena City College.
Farmer was a member of the faculty at USC in the Department of Exercise Science for four years. He works as a basketball official in the Big West Conference and a football official in the Western Football Conference.
Farmer was an assistant football coach at Boise State and West Los Angeles College.
