IRVINE — Vince Brown has been hired as the baseball coach at Woodbridge High School, Athletic Director Dave Cowen said Wednesday.
Brown resigned as Tustin’s coach at the end of last season, citing a need to change direction. The change took him only a few miles south to Woodbridge, a school in the Sea View League with Tustin.
He replaces Johnny Ceballos-Rivera, who resigned at the end of last season.
Brown, who will continue teaching at Currie Middle School in Tustin, was 138-53 in seven years at Tustin. The Tillers reached the semifinals of the Southern Section 3-A playoffs in each of the last four seasons and lost to La Serna, 1-0, in the 1990 title game.
Brown will inherit a team that finished last in the Sea View League in 1992.
