Passenger Killed in Car Crash
A 21-year-old woman was killed early Saturday when the car in which she was a passenger veered out of control and struck a tree near Interstate 5 in San Diego, police said.
Khanitha Chanthrathip, died at the scene of the accident just north of Washington Street, San Diego police said.
The car apparently went out of control as it traveled north on I-5 about 5 a.m. The speed of the car was unknown.
The vehicle plunged down a hill and struck the tree, officers said. The driver was apparently not injured.
