Ottis Anderson is again the NFL’s oldest running back after rejoining the New York Giants one day after being cut. Anderson, 35, was brought back when tight end Aaron Pierce, the Giants’ third-round draft choice, was put on injured reserve with a hand injury. . . . Quarterback Andre Ware, the Detroit Lions’ first-round pick in 1990, has asked to be traded. He might be considered by Houston, considering that Oiler Coach Jack Pardee was Ware’s coach at the University of Houston in 1989 when Ware won the Heisman Trophy.

The Philadelphia Eagles, seeking defensive line help, got Buffalo defensive end Leon Seals for an undisclosed 1993 draft choice. Seals, who had asked to be traded after the Bills’ Super Bowl loss to Washington, was a starter the last two seasons. . . . Also, the Bills put wide receiver Al Edwards on injured reserve for four weeks because of a rib injury and defensive back Clifford Hicks, a former Ram, on injured reserve for four to six weeks because of a leg injury.

After a 43-day holdout, New Orleans Saint wide receiver Eric Martin agreed to a one-year contract with no option. No financial terms were announced. . . . Running back Barry Foster has agreed to terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The length and terms of the new contract were not disclosed. . . . The Steelers also re-signed rookie wide receiver Darrick Owens, one day after waiving him, and placed cornerback Stan Smagala on injured reserve.
