The Loyola Marymount women’s volleyball team, off to its best start since 1985, will compete in the UC Santa Barbara Volleyball Classic today and Saturday in Goleta.
The Lions (4-1) open pool play against Morehead State (0-2) at 10 a.m. today and meet San Jose State (1-3) at 7 tonight. Pool winners advance to Saturday’s championship bracket and the title match is at 7 p.m.
Loyola defeated Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday.
After winning two of its first three matches on the road, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s soccer team will play its home opener against Cal Lutheran at noon Saturday in Carson.
Cal Lutheran, one of the top-rated teams in the NCAA Division III, opened its season with a 1-0 loss to Cal Poly Pomona last week.
The Toro men’s team lost to Grand Canyon College, 4-1, on Thursday. The Toro men (0-4) play host to Cal Lutheran on Saturday.
