Key returners: Hilary Kyle, Jr., 5-6, outside hitter; Donna Simchowitz, Sr., 5-11, outside hitter; Anne Swayne, Sr., 6-1, middle blocker; Rachel Wacholder, Sr., 5-8, outside hitter.

Key newcomers: Christy Collison, So., 5-9, setter; Rose Kuhn, So., 5-9, outside hitter; Lisa Ravensberg, So., 6-0, middle blocker; Cole Stevens, 5-10, Sr., outside hitter; Jennifer Tyus, Jr. 5-4, defensive specialist; Sonia Uluestad, Sr., 5-7, outside hitter.

Outlook: The Artists have the state’s best player in Wacholder, but do they have the best team? Don’t be surprised if they win the State title. Kyle and Swayne, three-year varsity players, continue to show improvement. The Artists lost two starters to graduation--outside hitter Tori Scott and setter Shauna Shapiro, an All-Southern Section pick. Kyle and Simchowitz will pick up the slack at outside hitter .
