Village Christian 14, Bell-Jeff 3--Tarik Blair returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and rushed for a game-high 91 yards in 18 carries to lead the host Crusaders at Kennedy High.

Village Christian’s David Treanor threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to J.B. McLeod on the Crusaders’ first possession for an early 7-0 lead.

Bell-Jeff’s only score came on a 21-yard field goal by Jesse Llamas that pulled the Guards to within 7-3. Bell-Jeff quarterback Luke Barrett completed eight of 24 for 65 yards.

Bell-Jeff running back John Pawlich suffered a neck injury with 1:46 remaining and was taken off the field on a stretcher. Play was delayed for 25 minutes.
