Weekend violence claimed at least 12 lives in Los Angeles County, and six other victims were wounded by gunfire, law enforcement officials said.

In Watts, where a truce among black gangs since the spring riots has been the most successful, 16-year-old Antonio Moore was shot and killed Saturday night by unknown assailants. Officers said there were no witnesses to the attack in the 1700 block of East 103rd Street.

“At this point we have nothing to indicate it was gang (related), even though it occurred in a gang area,” said Los Angeles police Detective Roosevelt Joseph. “Heck, most of the areas down here in South-Central are gang.”

* Also on Saturday night, 32-year-old Maria Antonia Jurado was shot and killed and her boyfriend, whom officers did not identify, was wounded as they sat in a parked car in the 1100 block of West 47th Street. Joseph said two suspects, including a former boyfriend of Jurado’s, were arrested.

* Shortly after midnight, Rafael Rincoval, 21, was shot and killed and a friend was wounded outside a liquor store in the 1500 block of West Florence Avenue, Joseph said. Rincoval, his friend and a third man who was with them apparently were the victims of a robbery attempt, Joseph said. Rincoval’s friends drove him to a nearby home and called police, but no suspects were arrested.

* A robbery attempt on 42nd Street west of Main Street ended in the shooting death of a 19-year-old man early Sunday, police said. The victim’s name was not immediately released. Officers said the man was killed after he was accosted by two robbers and was slow to respond to demands for money. There were no arrests.

* A party at a home in the 300 block of East 25th Street ended in violence Saturday night when a 31-year-old man was stabbed to death, police said. The victim was not immediately identified and no arrests were made.

* The body of an unidentified woman was found about 6 a.m. Sunday in an alley in the 600 block of West Imperial Highway, Joseph said. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death, but she appeared to have been hit or beaten, Joseph said.

* A 29-year-old man, the apparent victim of a fatal stabbing early Saturday morning, was found in a parking lot in the 3000 block of West Seventh Street, police said. The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives. No arrests were made, officers said.

* Elsewhere in the county, two men were killed in apparent gang-related attacks in Hawthorne, a man was shot and killed in what may have been a fight over a drug deal in El Monte, another man was found shot to death in Newhall, and a man was killed and a woman injured in a shooting at an apartment in Pico Rivera, sheriff’s deputies said. In addition, a Norwalk man was in critical condition after being shot in the head, deputies said.

Alvaro Domingo Gonzalez, 20, and Lamberto Zamora, 18, were slain in the Hawthorne shootings, which occurred about four hours apart early Saturday, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.

In Newhall, a man was shot and killed on the 22000 block of 14th Street early Sunday, deputies said. His identity was not immediately released.

In what authorities called a “drug deal gone awry,” a man and woman were charged with murder after another man was killed in El Monte. Deputies said 11 pounds of marijuana was recovered after the shooting Saturday evening in the parking lot of the Sierra Inn in the 1100 block of Durfee Avenue.

In Pico Rivera, a domestic disturbance led to the shootings of a man and woman at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in an apartment in the 9200 block of Burke Street, deputies said. No other details were immediately available.

In Norwalk, a man was critically injured Saturday night when he was shot in the head at a home in the 12900 block of Foster Road. Two other men in the house were less seriously wounded.
