Van Nuys 12, Canoga Park 7--Bill Calhoun rushed for 72 in 18 carries, including the game-winning touchdown on a six-yard run late in the third quarter, to lead visiting Van Nuys (4-1, 2-0).

The Wolves scored their first touchdown on an eight-yard run by Efrain Martinez in the opening minute of the second quarter, capping a 13-play, 86-yard march that included a 33-yard keeper by John Peterson.

Canoga Park (3-2, 1-1) took a 7-6 lead with 15 seconds left in the first half on a 15-yard scoring pass from David Kreider to Rafael Palacios. Rashaud Vaughn ran for 103 yards in 17 carries.

But Calhoun’s touchdown run over the right side put Van Nuys ahead to stay with 4:12 left in the third quarter. Van Nuys defensive back Taj Tucker intercepted a pass at the Van Nuys 40 with 26 seconds left to preserve the win.
