The Dons’ setter had an incredible week. She totaled 50 assists and 12 service aces as she led her team to a pair of San Gabriel Valley League victories. She recorded 25 assists as the Dons swept Paramount, 15-13, 15-2, 16-14. She then added 25 more assists and 12 service aces in the Dons’ win over Warren, 15-1, 15-1, 15-11. The two victories pushed the Dons’ league record to 5-0.

Other top performers:

Sandy Harriger, a cross-country runner at St. Joseph High, set a course record at La Mirada Park when she posted a time of 19:16. But the Jesters lost the meet, 23-35, to St. Paul to drop to 0-2 in league.

Paula Makridis, one of the star players for the Long Beach Poly volleyball team, had 25 kills as the Jackrabbits posted two Moore League victories. She had a team high 14 kills in a 15-9, 15-4, 15-3 win over Lakewood, then added 11 kills as the Jackrabbits thrashed Wilson, 15-1, 15-6, 15-0. The two victories moved Poly’s Moore League record to 4-0.
