Class: Sophomore

Gale started the season competing at 177 pounds and was 9-3 in the first three weeks. Last week, he moved to 167, the class he competed in last season, and has continued to excel. He won his Western State Conference match, then went 4-0 in the West Valley tournament. Gale dominated on his way to the final match, including victories by 18-2 and 11-1 scores. He beat Brian McGee of Bakersfield, 9-6, in the final.

Gale was 20-12 last season for the Chargers, finishing fourth in the state and earning All-American honors.

Other top performers:

Marcellus Chrishon, who rushed for 229 yards in 46 carries in Saddleback’s 16-12 victory over San Diego Mesa.

Keith Rosenberg, who scored four goals as Irvine Valley beat Rancho Santiago, 4-2, in an Orange Empire Conference soccer match Friday.

Vance Senteno, who gained 154 yards in 26 carries to help Golden West beat Grossmont, 15-10.
