Esperanza 25, Moreno Valley Canyon Springs 2--Eric Poole scored five goals and Brent Stanley had four for host Esperanza (23-3), which advances to play Alhambra Friday.
Fountain Valley 12, Cypress 7--Robert Causee scored five goals and Ofer Horn had four for Fountain Valley (22-6), which will play Glendale, a 9-6 winner over La Habra, in the second round.
Los Alamitos 8, Pasadena Muir 7 (OT)--Tim Campbell scored with 21 seconds remaining in overtime for visiting Los Alamitos (16-11). Eric Ploessel sent the game to overtime, scoring with 51 seconds remaining in regulation. The Griffins advance to play La Serna, an 18-8 winner over Arlington.
Marina 16, Chino Hills Ayala 6--Matt Braun scored three goals for Marina (18-10) at Golden West College. Marina will play Riverside North, a 12-9 winner over Whittier, in the second round.
Montebello 10, Servite 8--Justin Daniels and James Silberstein each scored three goals for visiting Servite (15-11).
