$500,000 Blaze Hits Factory, Law Offices
A blaze erupted Saturday morning in a Northridge spa factory, causing more than $500,000 damage, the Los Angeles City Fire Department said.
Flames broke out at 9 a.m. and spread to law offices on the second floor above the Hydro Spas Outlet at 8727 Tampa Ave., said spokesman Jim Wells. It took 50 firefighters nearly an hour to extinguish the blaze, which caused heavy damage to the building, Wells said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. Damage to the structure and contents was estimated at $535,000.
