Yule Tree Suspected as Fire Kills Family

FERNDALE, Mich. — A couple and their three children were killed by a fire that swept through their house, a fire official said.
The victims were identified as Bill Yaple, 50, his wife, Diane, 36; their sons Scottie, 7, and Kenny, 2; and daughter Misty, 5.
Officials were investigating lights on the family’s artificial Christmas tree as a possible cause of the blaze.
