In the Western-Savanna tournament championship game:

Los Alamitos 81, Paramount 73--The backcourt of Tim Lin and Steve Carbone combined for 50 points to lead the Griffins at Western High School.

Carbone, who was the tournament MVP, scored 29 points and Lin added 21, including 11 for 12 from the free throw line, and six assists. But their biggest contribution may have been their handling of the Pirate full-court press.

“Lin played with great poise and composure,” Griffins Coach Steve Brooks said. “His game came back to where it was last year. Carbone has been very solid our first four games, and I’m very pleased.”
