THE BEST AROUND: Quarterback Tim Carey of Los Alamitos and lineman Travis Kirschke of Esperanza are the county’s two best prep football players, with impressive numbers. . . . Stanford-bound Carey has led Los Alamitos to 20 consecutive victories. Esperanza has a 39-2 record with Kirschke in the lineup the past three years. . . . The two head the 34th Times’ all-county team (C1,8-9) and will meet for the fifth time in two years Saturday in the Southern Section Division II championship game.
