In the Downtown Kiwanis boys’ tournament:

Calvary Chapel 72, Whittier Pioneer 64--Senior guard David Hesterly scored a game-high 32 points for Calvary Chapel (2-1) in a quarterfinal.

In the Glendora boys’ tournament:

Brea-Olinda 64, Cerritos Gahr 60--Nick Logoteta had 14 points for Brea-Olinda (2-3), which rallied from an eight-point deficit to win a first-round game.

In the Laguna Hills boys’ tournament:

Capistrano Valley Christian 40, El Toro 34--Troy Rodarmel had 19 points for Capistrano Valley Christian (2-0) in a first-round game.

In the La Quinta boys’ tournament:

Cypress 51, La Quinta 48 (OT)--Brett Boulton made three-point play with less than a minute remaining in overtime for Cypress (4-2).

In the Brea-Olinda girls’ tournament:

Brea-Olinda 75, Troy 38--Colleen Hudson scored 25 points for the Ladycats (6-0). Hudson made all eleven of her free throws. Sarah Beckley and Nicole Erickson sat out because of illness, which may keep them out of Friday’s semifinal against Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa 51, Alemeny 49--Olivia DiCamilli scored 21 points for Costa Mesa (4-2).

In the El Dorado Co-Ed Classic girls’ tournament:

Fullerton 48, Pomona Ganesha 36--Nadia Hoerner, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, had 24 points and 14 rebounds for Fullerton (2-2) in a first-round game.

In the Savanna girls’ basketball tournament:

La Habra 44, Pasadena Muir 33--Martha Hernandez had 20 points, six steals and five assists for La Habra (2-2).

In the Irvine girls’ soccer tournament semifinals:

Laguna Hills 1, Newport Harbor 0--Nicole Jolicoeur scored with one minute remaining in the match for Laguna Hills (4-1), which advances to play El Toro in the championship match at 5 p.m. Saturday.

El Toro 2, Dana Hills 1--El Toro’s Becky Kaminsky scored the winning goal on a pass from Denise Kenyon with 15 minutes remaining. Kenyon scored 10 minutes into the second half for El Toro (5-0). In the Irvine boys’ soccer tournament:

Foothill 1, Saddleback 0--Foothill’s Steven Patterson scored with five minutes remaining for Foothill (4-0-1), which advanced to the final Saturday.

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

Ocean View 4, Capistrano Valley 2--Erik Vinland scored the eventual match-winner with 15 minutes to play for Ocean View (2-0), which is tied with Santa Margarita as the top-ranked team in the county. Eighth-ranked Capistrano Valley fell to 1-2.

Brea-Olinda 1, Edison 0--Junior Aron Gardner scored to give unranked Brea-Olinda (1-0-1) a victory over No. 6 Edison.
