The chance that John Elway will return to the Denver Broncos’ lineup improved Tuesday after he threw more than 100 times without pain during practice.

Elway has missed four games--all losses--because of a bruised right shoulder and inflamed biceps tendon.

Atlanta Falcon defensive back Louis Riddick was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said Riddick, 23, of Lawrenceville, Ga., was stopped when he made an improper turn in suburban Marietta at 1:55 a.m. Breath analysis tests showed he had a 0.17% blood alcohol content, over the 0.10% legal limit, police said.
