After three frustrating and winless years in the Orange League, Giroux, who has come up from coaching the JVs, is the latest to come through the revolving door. She figures her team has nowhere to go but up. That could prove to be difficult, however. Lack of coaching stability and the losing stigma have set the program back. Last year’s coach, Mark Adams, figured he had enough height and experience to turn things around. By the end of the season, the Colonists were 0-17, 0-10 in league. This season, Anaheim has very little experience and not much height. Giroux has set a goal of one league victory, but the Colonists will have to catch another team napping if they hope to accomplish even that. Roque and Cristina Rodriguez played varsity ball as freshmen but didn’t play last season. Joanna Rodriguez, a three-point shooting specialist, and Tuua will provide some quickness in the backcourt. Hernandez is expected to provide some inside scoring strength. Bernal, an aggressive inside player, is among the newcomers who might be able to pull the Colonists out of the doldrums.
