Trabuco Hills on Goal by Skeen

Kelly Skeen scored the game’s only goal as Capistrano Valley (12-2-2), the fourth-ranked team in Orange County, beat Trabuco Hills, 1-0, in a nonleague girls’ soccer game Tuesday at Trabuco Hills.

Skeen’s goal came with six minutes left in the game. Trabuco Hills (8-5) is ranked 10th in the county.

In other nonleague girls’ soccer:

Sunny Hills 8, Long Beach Millikan 2--Sophomore Krista Ellefsen and freshman Jenny Cunningham each scored twice for Sunny Hills (8-2-1).

El Toro 2, Laguna Hills 0--Julie Bargiel and Denise Kenyon scored second-half goals for visiting El Toro (10-1-1), ranked second in Orange County.

Canyon 3, Estancia 0--Krista Broughton scored twice and goalie Tina Thompson had 11 saves for host Canyon (10-2).

El Dorado 3, Rowland 0--Junior forward Carlye Wind had two goals and teammate Liz Levens one for host El Dorado (5-2).

In the Sea View League:

Newport Harbor 5, Saddleback 1--Diane Kelsey, Stacy Gerry, Jill Nelsen, Nicole Wakim and Jenny St. Sure scored for host Newport Harbor (6-4, 1-0).

Santa Margarita 2, University 0--Annie Luke and Meagan Lingo scored second-half goals for visiting Santa Margarita (5-1-5, 1-0).

Tustin 2, Irvine 1--Jami Bickley and Kelly Perez scored for Tustin (3-2-1, 1-0).

In the Sunset League:

Edison 5, Rosary 0--Sophomore halfback Erin Bailey scored twice for top-ranked Edison (11-3). Michelle Kaping, Maili Williams and Shauna Itri also scored for the Chargers, who held a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Marina 4, Huntington Beach 0--Amy Peterson had three goals for Marina.

Ocean View 3, Westminster 0--Kim Engesser scored twice for Ocean View (10-3-1).

In Sunset League field hockey:

Santiago 3, Huntington Beach 0--Yisel Carrillo, Sam Nguyen and Teresa Puskas scored for Santiago (6-0-1, 5-0).
