Nothing Funny About Murray at Rose Bowl

Share

I revere Jim Murray like my father, but like my father he sometimes overindulges in nostalgia and comes out with assertions like: “This Fresno State team was hardly the 1927 Fighting Irish.” (Dec. 31). However dominant and beloved America’s favorite teams in the ‘20s and ‘30s may have been, they would be too small, too slow, too weak and too segregated to compete in college football today. Fresno State would have clobbered them all.
