Few positives can be found in a six-game losing streak. But if the Cal State Northridge women’s team had any optimism about its spiraling 4-10 season, it was in the fact the Matadors had at least played their past three opponents tough. But after Tuesday’s 79-57 blowout at Fresno State, CSUN’s outlook is bleak. The Matadors made 32% of their shots from the field, sank 13 of 22 free throws and committed 21 turnovers.

Corry Carter had 18 points and 12 rebounds in only 26 minutes for Fresno State. Fresno State capitalized on 26 CSUN fouls and made 24 of 36 free throws.

The rout came on the heels of three road losses that were each decided by six points or less. The Matadors, who have not played at home since Dec. 30, return after five straight road games to play host to Cal State Sacramento on Saturday.
