Frank Greminger has announced that next season, his 25th as Agoura High football coach, will be his last.
“I’ve definitely decided it’ll be one more year,” Greminger, 54, said. “I guess, maybe, I want to get my 25 years in. Last year was real pleasurable for me. And we have the same kind of kids coming back.”
Last season, Greminger led Agoura to a 6-5 record and a fourth-place finish in the Marmonte League.
The Chargers gained an at-large berth in the Southern Section Division III playoffs and were eliminated in the first round by Bell Gardens, 13-7, in overtime.
Last season’s was Agoura’s best in three years in the Marmonte League. In 1991, Agoura was 2-8, 0-7 in league play.
In 1984, Greminger led Agoura to the Desert-Mountain Conference championship with a 21-20 victory over Yucaipa.
Greminger said he plans to remain at Agoura as a physical education teacher.
