The Cypress womenhad won eight games the previous three seasons, but the Chargers already have won nine this season, thanks in part to the play of Harold, from Gethsemane High School in Long Beach.

Harold, a two-time All-Southern Section pick in high school, is averaging 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Chargers.

Harold, 6 feet 1, had her best two games of the season last week, scoring 33 points and getting 30 rebounds; however, Cypress lost both.

She had a season-high 21 points and added 17 rebounds as Cypress lost, 66-61, to Orange Coast, ranked fourth in the state.

Other top performers:

Heather Brannan, who scored 30 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field as Orange Coast won twice.

Christa McDonald, who scored 24 points as Fullerton split two games. She had 16 in the Hornets’ 59-50 victory over Cypress.
