HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Thousand Oaks Girls Continue to Romp

Forward Marion Jones had 19 points and 24 rebounds as the Thousand Oaks High girls’ basketball team remained unbeaten with a 54-36 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game Thursday night. The Lancers (21-0, 9-0 in league play) are ranked No. 1 in the state by Cal-Hi Sports.

In other girls’ basketball games:

Hart 41, Burroughs 33--Senior Shannon Martin scored a career-high 30 points and had 10 rebounds to lead visiting Hart (15-5, 6-0) in a battle for first place in the Foothill League. Martin was 13 for 17 from the field.

Alemany 63, Notre Dame 22--Kim Slattery had 14 points and 11 rebounds as Alemany (18-4, 7-2) beat host Notre Dame (7-13, 3-6) in a Mission League game. Zevette Mitchell added 11 points and Samantha Rigley 10 for Alemany.

Chaminade 40, Harvard-Westlake 30--Shawte Mitchell scored 14 points for the Eagles in a Mission League game. Angie Wong finished with 17 points and seven steals for Westlake (7-10, 2-6).

Burbank 47, Saugus 46--Jocelyn Ferialdi scored 18 points and Amber Beardsly sank a free throw with 28 seconds left to lift the Bulldogs (11-7, 4-3) in a Foothill League game at Saugus. Nicole Hicks scored 20 for Saugus.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Muir 63, Hoover 58--Michael O’Quinn scored 19 points and Jacque Vaughn added 18 for visiting Muir (16-5, 5-1) in a Pacific League game. Chad Reese scored 17 points for Hoover (8-12, 1-5).

Burbank 55, Saugus 42--Tyson Helsley had 15 points and Brad Warner added 12 for host Burbank (7-11, 3-4) in a Foothill League game. Mike Williams of Saugus led all scorers with 16 points.

Campbell Hall 106, Buckley 37--C.J. Thompkins had 32 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds and six steals for visiting Campbell Hall (10-8, 6-1) in a Delphic League game. Simeon Woodall added a personal-best 29 points.

Crossroads 67, Faith Baptist 39--Todd Weaver scored 10 points and Judd Granzow added 11 rebounds, but host Faith Baptist committed 26 turnovers in a Delphic League game.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Oak Park 2, Fillmore 0--Alex Eckert and Mark Schwanauer each scored a goal and Tim Ta recorded eight saves as the visiting Eagles (6-6, 4-3) moved into second in the Tri-Valley League.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Louisville 3, Harvard-Westlake 2 (2 OTs)--Notre Dame-bound Cindy Daws completed a hat trick with her third goal three minutes into the second overtime as visiting Louisville (11-4-2, 4-2-1) won a Mission League match.

WRESTLING

El Camino Real 52, San Fernando 15--David Duran (125 pounds), a two-time City Section champion, recorded a 10-3 win and Darren Good (130) had a pin for El Camino Real (9-12-2, 1-0). Eduardo Nochez (135) of El Camino Real and Julio Ramirez (140) of San Fernando had pins.

Ventura 67, San Marcos 4--Ryan Burdick recorded a 48-second pin in the 171-pound class to lead Ventura (12-2, 4-0) in a Channel League match. Ryan Atherton (112), Benny Sandoval (125), Jay Proffitt (130), Jason Carmody (135), Justin Jackson (152), Joe Harper (160), Roland Luera (189) and Sean Burdick also had pins for Ventura.

Harvard-Westlake 53, Chaminade 9--Host Harvard-Westlake (14-3, 4-1), which lost to Chaminade earlier in the season (35-32), won the Mission League match behind seniors Brenden Klinger (135) and Eddie Lee (152) and freshman Paul Michels (103).
