PACOIMA : Pedestrian, 32, Hit, Killed by Car
A 32-year-old Pacoima man was hit by a car and killed while crossing Laurel Canyon Boulevard near his home, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.
George Cruz was walking east across Laurel Canyon near Osborne Street about 6 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a car headed north, said Sgt. Joe Cross. Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene, Cross said.
The driver, Harry Studt, 73, of Sun Valley, was not cited, police said.
Cruz “apparently . . . darted out in front of the car,” Cross said. “The car was slowing, but not enough” to avoid a collision.
