VALLEY AREA ROUNDUP : San Fernando Romps to Win

J.R. Montgomery scored a game-high 25 points to lead San Fernando High to an 83-60 victory over Granada Hills in a North Valley League makeup game at Granada Hills on Monday.
Junior guard Javier Ramos scored 22 points for San Fernando (10-7, 4-2 in league), which remained one game ahead of Reseda in league play with four games remaining.
In other boys’ basketball:
First Lutheran 60, Queen of Angels 58--Joel Hernandez scored 14 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter as the Falcons ralled from a 13-point deficit for their first on-the-court victory of the season.
First Lutheran (2-16) won by forfeit against L.A. Lutheran, which used an ineligible player.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
North Hollywood 112, Sherman Oaks CES 20--Sophomore Anna Celaya had a triple double in a Valley Pac-8 Conference mismatch at Sherman Oaks. Celaya scored 24 points, had 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the Huskies (14-6, 6-1).
BOYS’ SOCCER
Buena 5, Santa Barbara 0--Bulldog sweeper Steven McDonald scored two goals on corner kicks in a Channel League match. Buena (14-1-3, 10-1-2 in league) can clinch its first league title since 1986 by beating Dos Pueblos on Wednesday.
