Manning Lifts Toro Women to Win

Erika Manning scored a game-high 18 points and Karee Bonde added five three-point baskets as the Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s basketball team defeated Cal State Los Angeles, 65-63, Thursday night at CSLA.

Dominguez Hills (13-8, 5-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.) opened a 12-point lead at halftime and led by as many as nine points (49-40) with 12:02 remaining. But CSLA (4-17, 1-7) used a 14-4 run over the next 4:49 to take a 54-53 lead.

But Bonde’s fifth three-point basket put the Toros ahead to stay.

Dominguez Hills plays at UC Riverside on Thursday.
